Golden Butterfly

Today is a color challenge from Create with Connie and Mary challenge blog. Here are the colors.
I don't usually struggle with the challenges but I did with this one for some reason. I think it is the time of year and none of my stamp sets seemed to lend themselves to the colors. When all else fails - go with butterflies!
Stampin' Up! Butterfly Basics stamp set. Elegant Eggplant, Island Indigo and Gold. Handmade butterfly birthday card. Lisa Young, Add Ink and Stamp
The background is embossed with the Fluttering embossing folder. Then I layered the stamped panels and added a gold butterfly. I'm sorry the purple is kind of washed out but hopefully you get the idea.

Supplies are Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Basic Butterfly, Gorgeous Grunge
Card Stock: Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White, Gold Foil
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Island Indigo, Delightful Dijon
Other: Gold Bakers twine, Itty Bitty accent punch, pearl, sponge, Fluttering embossing folder, Butterfly thinlits

We hope you will play along with us! We love to see your creativity.

True enough Lisa - you can't go wrong with butterflies as your card proved this week! I love the deep purple background - very elegant - and the layered butterfly adds lots of dimension.

Love the strong showing of Eggplant! It's such a great background for the lacy gold butterfly! Very pretty!

Beautiful, Lisa! Love how the gold butterfly really draws out the Dijon color. Love your extra little touches.

When all else fails, go with butterflies.....this statement is SO TRUE! You can create a flattering butterfly card with just about any color combination and your card simply proves that point! It's wonderful!
