Stamp Review Crew: Awesomely Artistic Edition

Welcome to another Blog Hop brought to you by the Stamp Review Crew.  We will be featuring the stamp set, Awesomely Artistic. It had me at the name :)  Everyone on the hop has made at least one project with this stamp set so there is lots of inspiration for you!

Reminder: the Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop officially begins Monday, August 17th but we post early so we can work out the kinks so some links may not work. Just don't give up!

If you arrived from the blog of the talented Dawn Tidd, then you are in the right place. If you just arrived and this is your first stop, that is ok because the blog hop goes full circle - just follow the links!

In case you aren't familiar with this stamp set, this is what it looks like.
Note: It also comes in Clear Mount for $20.00

I made a clean and simple card for my project and was inspired by this gorgeous, non-Stampin' Up! card.

Stampin' Up! Awesomely Artistic stamp set with Watercolor Wash Background stamp. Watercolor type background in shades of blue and green with blue dragonfly. Clean and simple card. Dragonfly card. Handmade by Lisa Young, Add Ink and Stamp
I used the new Heavyweight Whisper White card stock for the base and stamped panel. I love how it holds up! I started off by using the Watercolor Wash background stamp and only partially inking it up before stamping. After I inked it, I spritzed it with water and stamped onto the panel. I then added some dots/speckles with one of the stamps in this set. Next I stamped the dragonfly and added some Basic Black lines to its wings and body. The fine tip of the Basic Black marker worked perfectly for this.

The final step was to adhere the die cut sentiment. I wanted a bold contrast to the background so I used Basic Black card stock and the Greetings thinlits.

All of the supplies are Stampin' Up! and can be found in my Online Store.

Stamps: Watercolor Wash background, Awesomely Artistic
Card Stock: Heavyweight Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink: Pacific Point, Pool Party, Basic Black
Other: Big Shot, Greetings thinlits

The next stop along the way is the blog of another very talented stamper, Holly Krautkremer
I just know you will be inspired by all of the lovely creations on this blog hop. Enjoy!
