Watercolored Birthday Blossoms

I am happy to bring a lovely color combination to you today. It's a little bit of old color, and a little bit of new color, and it's a combination from Create with Connie and Mary challenge blog. Yes, it is Thursday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary challenge!
Aww, Perfect Plum - how I loved you combined with Mellow Moss (now retired) and Very Vanilla. That being said, I was excited to try Perfect Plum with Mint Macaron. Love it!
Stampin' Up! Birthday Blossoms stamp set. Watercolored background with watercolored flowers. Handmade birthday card by Lisa Young, Add Ink and Stamp
I was in the mood to break out the Watercolor paper and get all artistic. Ha!

The background is a wash of Perfect Plum and Sahara Sand with a little splatter of Perfect Plum. Tip: Pick up ink with your Aquapainter and tap it to get some random splatter. You may want to practice on scrap paper first!

The flowers are stamped with Perfect Plum ink on Watercolor paper and then colored with an Aquapainter. I added depth to the center and edges by using a Perfect Plum marker and a touch of white in the centers was done with my White Chalk Pen. The same method was used for the leaves with a touch of Sahara Sand ink as well.

My sentiment was stamped directly onto the background but truth be told, the "Have a beautiful" birthday part didn't stamp very well so I just stamped it on a scrap of Watercolor paper, cut it out with my Snips, and adhered it right over my mistake.

This was one of those cards that gave me great joy because my first love will always be watercoloring :)

All supplies are Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Birthday Blossoms
Paper: Watercolor paper
Card stock: Perfect Plum
Ink: Perfect Plum, Mint Macaron, Sahara Sand
Other: Aquapainter, Pansy Punch, Chalk Pen, dimensional

Come play with us this week at Create with Connie and Mary - we love to see what others create!

An artistic card indeed this week Lisa! Your watercolouring is beautiful - the washed panel in the centre is rather dreamy and brings your flowers together a treat. Gorgeous!

Very pretty Lisa! I love the watercolored background. And as far as your sentiment, sometimes mistakes come in and steal the show. Now the sentiment pops!
