Now it is onto the next stop which happens to be Betty Traciak's Blog. Enjoy!!

I really appreciate you stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my projects! If you have time, please leave a comment - I would love to hear from you. And come back again if you are so inclined!

Poppies on a Red Checked Table

I am trying to stock up on "Thinking of You" type cards because they can be used for so many different reasons and I never seem to have any on hand when I need one!

Today's card is one such card and uses the lovely jar of flowers from the Summer Mini set, On The Grow. That jar of flowers is so versatile and I love to watercolor it! I chose Poppy Parade and Pacific Point as my main  colors. The designer paper is retired (sorry). Normally I wouldn't use retired products but I LOVE this Poppy Parade(red) gingham paper from Pawsitively Prints 2. It is so country, so summery and so perfect for a jar of poppy colored flowers!
The layout is a simple one that I have used before. Sometimes I like to layer the same colors/paper/cardstock together just for something different. Two buttons balance the  sides and a little bit of Color Spritzing are my only additions.

Notice the little touch of green in the jar. That is not a mistake. I did it on purpose to tie the bold color of the jar with the bold colors of the flowers.

All supplies are Stampin' Up! Click here if you would like to order.

Stamps:    On The Grow (Summer Mini)
Cardstock: Crumb Cake
Paper:     Pawsitively Prints 2 (retired)
           Water color Paper
Ink:       Black Stazon, Crumb Cake, SU Markers
Other:     Neutral buttons, dimensionals, sponge, linen thread, Blender pen, color spritzer tool

Thanks for stopping in and have a blessed day!

Pink Dots

The other day I was just messin' around with the new Distressed Dots Background stamp and the Perfect Pennants Bigz die since they are both new products. Of course all I used from the Perfect Pennants die was the doily/scallopy circle which I love. Maybe this weekend I will be able to create something with the pennant part of the die.

The stamped focal point is from Clearly for You and Four Frames. It is hard to tell from the photo, but the frame has teeny tiny polka dots which balance the dots in the background.
All supplies are Stampin' Up!

Stamps:    Distressed Dots Background
                  Clearly For You
                  Four Frames
Paper:      Crumb Cake cardstock

                  Whisper White cardstock

Kindness Matters

The stamp set that I used for the focal image on today's card is one of my favorites in the new catalog. Its name is Kindness Matters and it has several different elements including 2 sentiments. The best part is - it's affordable!

Another new stamp set that I used is the background stamp, Distressed Dots. I am not sure how I feel about it as a background for Kindness Matters so I added a the background stamp, EnFrancais

New Color alert! One of the new In Colors this year is Island Indigo. It is lighter than Taken With Teal was but darker than Tempting Turquoise. I love it paired up with Crumb Cake. And notice the new ribbon! It has a little bit of a ruffle and is so easy to work with!

Pennant Birthday for my niece

Another birthday card using the pennant punch - I made it for my niece who turned 1 year old this week. Not only did I use the new Petite Pennants Builder Punch, I also used the new Ronald McDonald House Charity (RMHC) stamp set called Turtle & Co. It is my favorite RMHC stamp set yet!

I kept the embellishments to a minimum because this card had to go through the mail and our post office is a pain stickler when it comes to mailing cards with bumps!

Stamps: Turtle & Co., Curly Cute
Paper: Blushing Bride, So Saffron, Whisper White cardstock, Watercolor paper, Just Add Cake dsp
Ink: Black Stazon, Stampin' UP! markers
Accessories: Blender Pen, Mini Glue Dots, Glitter Brads, Baker's Twine, Corner Rounder Punch, Petite Pennants Builder Punch

On another note, Gideon, our new kitten, is thriving and giving us much joy. He loves to "help" me stamp. Haha!

Have a blessed day!

Field Flowers, a new stamp set

This is totally inspired from a card I saw in a magazine. I loved the idea of using gray, pink, and vanilla, or in this case Basic Gray, Blushing Bride, and Very Vanilla. The other thing I loved was the idea of stamping the flowers directly over the script. I would have never thought of this on my own! That is why I enjoy looking at card/scrapbook publications - finding little details and inspiration here and there. Otherwise I get in a rut!

The stamp set is Field Flowers, one of my favorite new stamps in the new catalog.  I combined it with another new product, the Lace Ribbon Border Punch!

Stamps: Field Flowers, En Francais Background
Paper: Blushing Bride, Basic Gray, Very Vanilla
Ink: Blushing Bride, Basic Gray
Accessories: Lace Ribbon Border Punch, Basic Gray Button, White Baker's Twine (dyed)

Happy Stamping!

Some new products

I made this card for my monthly swap over at Stampin' Addicts. It uses the new stamp set, My Friend, new Chocolate Chip Scallop Dots Ribbon and a new color, namely Pool Party. I love the combination of Pool Party with Chocolate Chip!

The ink is darker that what appears here. That is because I used an overlay of Vellum which really softens the color of the ink. The sentiment is stamped directly on the vellum.
Vellum is one of those things I rarely use but love when I do! You know what I mean?

All supplies are Stampin' Up!

Stamps: My Friend
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Pool Party, Vellum
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pool Party
Other: Corner Rounder Punch, Basic Rhinestones, Chocolate Chip Scallop Dots Ribbon, Big Shot, Flower Garden textured impressions embossing folder

Thanks for looking!

What I have been up to... and a card

Well I have not been stamping much because I have been very preoccupied! It began last week when my 3 daughters (and 1 boyfriend) came home for the long 4th of July weekend. It was heaven having them all home at once! They live 800 miles away from us. :(

This is a picture I took in the backyard. They are sitting on the hammock in case you were wondering. lol.
While the girls were here they insisted we take a trip to Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society in Springfield. They didn't have to twist our arm too hard because David and I have been wanting a kitten for a few months now. It has been over a year since our other cat died and we have been anxious to get another one! Making it a family affair was just the ticket we needed.

Once we got to the animal shelter, we found that all kittens - and there were alot of them - were half price. Not that price mattered - we would have gladly paid full price - but that was a nice bonus. Because there were so many kittens to consider we narrowed them down to shorthair and certain colors. As far as male or female, we decided it didn't matter. Our family has always had female animals until one of my daughters adopted a male cat and we all love him alot. He is way more mellow than any female cat any of us had, or has!

We looked, we held, we played with all of the kittens, one at a time. And after LOTS of deliberation over which kitten we should choose, we adopted this little guy!

The girls flew home a week ago and I, of course, was very sad to see them go. But having a kitten in the house has been/is wonderful! He fills the empty spaces and David and I love him!

Just in case you are interested: He was 10 weeks old when we adopted him. His name is Gideon which means mighty warrior (he thinks he is). He has a gentle, easy going personality and loves human contact.

Before daughters and kitten arrived on the scene, I made this birthday card.
I used the new Petite Pennants Builder Punch to make the banner and punched the letters from the new Just Add Cake designer paper.

All supplies are Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Create a Cupcake
Paper: Just Add Cake dsp, Baja Breeze, Whisper White cardstock
Ink: Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Real Red
Accessories: Dazzling Diamond Glitter, corner rounder punch, White Satin Ribbon, 1/2" Circle Punch, Cupcake Builder Punch

Have a wonderful day!
