Well I have not been stamping much because I have been very preoccupied! It began last week when my 3 daughters (and 1 boyfriend) came home for the long 4th of July weekend. It was heaven having them all home at once! They live 800 miles away from us. :(
This is a picture I took in the backyard. They are sitting on the hammock in case you were wondering. lol.
While the girls were here they insisted we take a trip to Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society in Springfield. They didn't have to twist our arm too hard because David and I have been wanting a kitten for a few months now. It has been over a year since our other cat died and we have been anxious to get another one! Making it a family affair was just the ticket we needed.
Once we got to the animal shelter, we found that all kittens - and there were alot of them - were half price. Not that price mattered - we would have gladly paid full price - but that was a nice bonus. Because there were so many kittens to consider we narrowed them down to shorthair and certain colors. As far as male or female, we decided it didn't matter. Our family has always had female animals until one of my daughters adopted a male cat and we all love him alot. He is way more mellow than any female cat any of us had, or has!
We looked, we held, we played with all of the kittens, one at a time. And after LOTS of deliberation over which kitten we should choose, we adopted this little guy!

The girls flew home a week ago and I, of course, was very sad to see them go. But having a kitten in the house has been/is wonderful! He fills the empty spaces and David and I love him!
Just in case you are interested: He was 10 weeks old when we adopted him. His name is Gideon which means mighty warrior (he thinks he is). He has a gentle, easy going personality and loves human contact.
Before daughters and kitten arrived on the scene, I made this birthday card.
I used the new Petite Pennants Builder Punch to make the banner and punched the letters from the new Just Add Cake designer paper.
All supplies are Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Create a Cupcake
Paper: Just Add Cake dsp, Baja Breeze, Whisper White cardstock
Ink: Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Real Red
Accessories: Dazzling Diamond Glitter, corner rounder punch, White Satin Ribbon, 1/2" Circle Punch, Cupcake Builder Punch
Have a wonderful day!

Awww. Love the card, but love the kitten/adoption story even better. So happy for you, and Gideon!!
Oh I love your new little baby. Bless you for rescue! I recently began volunteering in a Phoenix Valley of the Sun westside shelter. The hardest part is not bringing home more "children."

Very cute card Lisa! Can't wait to get my hands on that pennant punch and set. Am waiting a bit though to put in my birthday month order to see if I can sell some more stuff. lol
I am not a cat person myself, but what a sweet story about Gideon, and a wonderful name! But I did have to giggle when I read 3 daughters came home and 1 boyfriend. I thought, does your hubby know you brought a b/f home?? lol j/k I know it was the daughter's b/f, but tickled me when I read it, cuz yanno I'm weird that way. lol
Hugs
Hi dear. Thanks for sharing your photo`s and your Gideon story. He is so so cute. So happy for you that he brings a smile on your face when you miss your daughters. Your card is also a beauty. Love it! So many fun details.
Inky hugs, Pauline
Love the card but the kitten I'm afraid has to take 1st place, he is just sooo gorgeous..... we have just got a kitten, he's 14 weeks old and we got him 2 weeks ago, we have 2 female cats already and were worried but he's settled in very well and def knows his place, bottom of the pecking order!!! his name is Misty and is sooo cuddly and gorgeous, so much more cuddly than our other 2 and we hope he remains so, wishing Gideon and long and happy life with you all.....
Love your card...and LOVE that Gideon! What a sweet little fluffball! It's funny how much love Boy Cats give - the girls don't seem to be quite so needy. You did very well to come home with just ONE.
Aloha,
Anne
