I always enjoy doing the One Layer Challenge found HERE. I know for the most part, Stampin' Up! stampers use layers... embellishments.... and well...stuff. I am no exception cause I love all of those things! But when I see some of the gorgeous one layer cards others make, I want to to see what I can do!
I decided to combine 2 stamp sets, Just Believe and Notably Ornate, for an early morning water scene. First, I created a stencil by using the Big Shot and Frame Oval Scallop die, and then sponged on Marina Mist and Rich Razzleberry. After I did that, I stamped and embossed the images.
After I stamped the card on white, I tried it on Pink Pirouette because October is Breast Cancer month. So I did everything the exact same way and look how it turned out? Can you see the difference? It's pretty obvious!
The embossing powder kept sticking to the ink in the sponged oval and I have no idea why. This card was my third try and it did that every time! It was the oddest thing cause it only did that on the pink cardstock, not the white. And yes, I used the embossing buddy! So finally I gave up, heated it anyway, and I love how it looks! It reminds me of mist over a swamp. I deliberately left out the sentiment cause I felt it would spoil the mood.

Paper: Pink Pirouette, Whisper White
Ink: Versamark, Marina Mist, Rich Razzleberry

Your cards are absolutely stunning!
Awesome job on the challenge!
These cards are beautiful Lisa, and I also like the mist on the swamp!
Gorgeous Lisa!! I really love the white one. I had to sit right down and case it! I didn't have those stamps, so I used Asian Artistry, but I like how it came out. You really chose beautiful colors.
