Before I show you today's project I have a funny story to tell. I meant to tell it last week when it happened but I kept forgetting.
I work in our city's public library and last Monday when I got to work everyone was all wound up because our library had been robbed early that morning (1:00am)!! Yes, someone - actually 2 people - broke in and robbed us! Fortunately our library is rigged with alarms so the police were alerted right away. But to break in the robbers had parked their bikes (they were 2 guys in their 20s), climbed the fire escape to the 3rd floor, and climbed in through the window of our break room/kitchenette. Then they walked out into the little hallway which tripped the library's silent alarm. The police arrived unbeknownst to the burglars, and one guy was caught red handed as he climbed down the fire escape. The other guy jumped 20 feet and got away! But the part we found to be hilarious was what they stole. They stole a half gallon of chocolate ice cream and a bottle of wine -seriously!! Both of those items were left over from an event the week before by the way. So needless to say the jokes have been flying and the news headlines were too funny! First we have a bomb scare, now a robbery!
Now on to more serious things like stamping!
Once again I turned to Stampin Addicts for a sketch. This week's sketch is a group of 3 blocks.
To make the card I used markers on the stamps, misted them with water and stamped. I repeated that across the front of a complete piece of Vanilla cardstock. I even stamped the saying in the upper right corner. Then I cut the stamped cardstock into thirds, sponged it, spritzed it with my Color Spritzer Tool, and layered everything onto a piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock. SNEAK PEAKS! I added a piece of punched cardstock and a brad to the top just to balance it. The Decorative Label Punch is a new one from the Holiday Mini and it is sure to be a hit! I like it because it is large enough to fit images as well as sayings. And check out that button! The Always Artichoke button is also from the Holiday Mini Catalog. These Big Designer Buttons come in 8 colors and really add alot of pizzazz to any project!
Speaking of SNEAK PEAKS here is another friendly reminder to come back Friday, August 27 - Sunday, August 29th for LOTS of projects featured in the Stampin Addict's Blog Hop!
