Vellum Butterflies

I liked yesterday's sketch from Pals Paper Arts so much I decided to make another card using it! I wanted to use my new butterfly stamp, All a Flutter from the Summer Mini so I did. And because I am trying to use up the colors that will be retiring I chose Brocade Blue.
Here is how I did it. First I punched a square from a scrap of cardstock and then used it as a stencil! The blue squares are stenciled with brocade blue ink and a sponge. After I made the squares, I stamped and embossed 3 butterflies on Vellum cardstock. Then I cut them out and bent the wings before I adhered them to the cardstock.

I kept the card clean and simple so all of the attention goes to the vellum butterflies. Hope you like it!

What a lovely card. I love you colors - so crisp and clean and the Butterflies are SO beautiful,. The vellum makes them look so delicate.

Great technique, Lisa - a simple one that I've forgotten about. Those soft squares look great behind the butterflies.
