NIght Star on the Sahara

Today's card is kinda out of the box, clean and simple, and totally random. I pulled the colors from the hostess pack of designer paper - for the simple reason that I want to use them up! The sketch, which I love, is from Stampin Addicts - at least this is my interpretation of the sketch!

This is the sketch from Stampin Addicts.

The card is pretty self explanatory except for the Star and the Night of Navy Button.

To make the star, I used the Movers and Shapers Star shape. I die cut one from a thin piece of cardboard and one from Night of Navy designer paper. I adhered them together with Tombow Multi-Purpose Adhesive and sponged the edges. Then I used dimensionals to give it some height. Notice how I lined up the lines? That was planned. lol.

I wanted a button in Night of Navy so I dyed a Kraft Corduroy button with Night of Navy reinker. Works great! Then I just tied some linen thread through it and attached it to the card front.

I just realized there is no stamping involved with this card! Well I didn't do that on purpose, I just never   thought to use a stamp with the sketch. A sentiment could be added so easily to this card so I guess I will just wait till I am ready to send it before I do that.
