Baby Shower Gift

This is a gift I made for a coworkers baby shower. I got the idea here. Of course Lauren's is way better than mine. She is an amazingly talented stamper! I had so much fun making it and it was super easy. I purchased a plain white can at Michaels. I then covered it with Stampin' Up! designer paper. I also added a strip of white cardstock that I punched with our eyelet paper punch and finally added a ribbon.

To make the "bouquet" I first purchased some silk flowers at the dollar store. I then punched out some "leaves" with my oval punch and some butterflies with the new butterfly punch. I bent the ovals to look more realistic and glued 3 together at the bottom. I also bent up the butterflies and added some non Stampin' Up! half pearls.

To assemble the bouquet, I stuffed the bottom of the can with some tissue paper. I then rolled the onesies and arranged them in the can. Finally, I took the stems of silk flowers apart and tucked them into the onesies and throughout the bouquet including each bunch of leaves. The leaves and butterflies finished the bouquet. It didn't come out exactly like I wanted it to but my coworker seemed to like it.

And I made the cutest card - again CASEING here. But I didn't take a picture! Bummer.

I can't figure out why my photos look so blurry all of a sudden. Sorry about that again!

All supplies are Stampin' Up! except for those noted.
Cardstock and Paper: Whisper White, Mellow Moss (leaves), Pretty in Pink (butterflies)
and Soft Sky designer series paper- retired.
Accessories:    Butterfly punch, Oval punch, eyelet border punch and White ribbon

Thanks for stopping. Have a great week.

It's been a long, long time

When I was told lately that I hadn't updated my blog since March, I couldn't believe it! March?! No way! But alas it is true. I know that it is difficult to do much of anything once my girls come home from college but gee they didn't come home till the beginning of May! What happened to April??!!

So here I am again. I see by looking at my blog that it is in desperate need of updating so I am going to be trying to do that. And I do have a few things to show as a result of the new catalog! Plus now that all of my daughters are back in Ohio I will need to be sending them some goodies!

This is a card that is made with the new background stamp called "Medallion". I needed a fairly quick card so I stamped it on vanilla cardstock then stamped the center 2 more times on scraps of vanilla cardstock.

I cut out the center (from the scrap cardstock), used my paper piercing tool and pierced each of the white dots on the image and then added dimensionals. Next I cut out the smaller center (from the 2nd piece of cardstock) and added one of our vanilla jumbo eyelets. I threaded ribbon through the jumbo eyelet and tied it in a simple knot. I then popped the second circle with dimensionals and layered the entire thing on a card front.

The bottom needed something so I layered on a small piece of designer paper from the new "Thoroughly Modern" designer series paper. I love the colors and patterns in this paper!! And finally I put some ribbon across the top of the designer paper. This is the new Bermuda Bay grosgrain ribbon - on of the new colors by the way. It is plain on one side and polka dot on the other so in my mind it is double the value!

I tried to show a photo closeup of the section I "popped up" with the dimensionals. Sorry it is so blurry.

All supplies are Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Medallion
Paper and Ink: Very Vanilla cardstock, Bermuda Bay cardstock and ink
       Thoroughly Modern designer series paper
Accessories:      Bermuda Bay grosgrain ribbon
Vanilla Jumbo eyelet
dimensionals

Enjoy and thanks for looking!
