Peace on an Adirondack Chair

Yep that is what I see when I look at this stamp image. When I made my initial wishlist from the new catalog this was at the top of the list. Why? Glad you asked. Cause it has a cat in it and because it is a line image stamp! I really enjoy watercoloring so this was the perfect stamp for me.

I stamped the image with Stazon ink on Watercolor paper. I then used markers and blender pens to color it in. That is what gives it the vibrant color. This really works best on watercolor paper cause it allows the ink to move easily. And I have used a variety of watercolor paper - Stampin' Up!'s is by far superior mainly cause it is a smooth texture. But if you just want to try our the technique you may want to use a cheaper brand.

After I stamped and layered the image on Soft Suede cardstock, I roughed up the edges with my bone folder. To do this just scrape the bone folder's edge along the edges of the cardstock. For more distressing I literally pulled the cardstock corners apart with  my finger tips.

The rest of the steps are pretty basic. It came out beautiful to me - it was hard to part with- but I know it went to a good home (smile).
