Okay some people get grand children. I get grand kitties! lol! I love animals and as you can tell from previous posts, I am fond of cats. My oldest daughter has a sweet cat that she adopted from a rescue shelter over a year ago. Now my middle daughter has a new cat and here is the card I made for her (my daughter, not the cat). lol.
But first here is the story of my new grand kitty as I like to refer to him. Skip the next 2 paragraphs if you don't like animals or just want the card details.
My eldest daughter, Alathea lives in Ohio with her sister Bethany (and a mutual friend Sarah). Alathea rides horses at a stable in the country. Two weeks ago 2 kittens were left, in the rain, in the road, in front of the stable where they were found and brought into the barn by the stable owner. Alathea meets them and proceeds to fall in love with them. But she didn't want/need another cat so she "convinced" her sister Bethany that she should adopt one - specifically the orange and white male. Bethany drove over, met the kitten, loved him and brought him home. Ahhh.
Well, I was happy for her cause I knew she had been contemplating adopting a cat but all I could think of was the other kitten left behind at the barn - all alone (well not really cause there are other cats at the stable) without her brother, sad and scared. I drove my husband crazy all night with my worrying about this kitten. So the next day when I talked to Bethany about her new kitten she said, " Well mom it isn't kitten. It's kittens!" "What???" I asked, not sure what she meant. And she proceeded to tell me how Sarah, their friend/housemate went with Bethany to get the orange and white male kitten and fell in love with the gray tabby sister kitten so she adopted her! Yeah Sarah! And, I was soooooo relieved! Sorry I just can't help it. Animals and children melt my heart.
Now for the card. The new kitten is orange and white so I colored the cat stamp from, "C is for Cat", with the Pumpkin Pie marker. I added the collar and tag with the Chocolate Chip marker. The same markers were used on the saying. I then cut out the cat and popped it up with dimensionals. The rest of the card is pretty straightforward.

Just stumbled upon your blog and love it! I, too, am a huge animal lover and have 2 cats of my own and I can sympathise with how you felt that night worrying about the kitten left at the barn, alone and brotherless. We "tender hearts" have such difficult times worrying about animals but they (animals) also bring so much JOY!!!! Thanks for sharing your little story! I hope the kittens are doing well! Sounds like your daughter has your heart as well!
