Another card with one of my favorite stamp sets, Friends 24/7. I made this before Baja Breeze retired but I never sent it until yesterday. I needed an "encouragement" card for someone going through a tough time. I needed to let them know I am here for them, praying for them and quite simply, to let them know they are on my mind. So this card was very appropriate.
I used specialty designer paper called Parisian Breeze. It is retired unfortunately. The specialty part of this paper is the weight of the paper - heavier than usual - and the texture. Well worth the extra $2.00 that it costs. To make the card I stamped the bird with Basic Brown ink. I then used Baja Breeze and watercolored the image.
Sometimes I get tired of square corners so I bring out my corner rounder and just round off all corners including the base card itself. Just one little punch can make a card "different". I added 1" Chocolate Chip ribbon and some Chocolate Chip corduroy brads along with a Baja Breeze Flower Fusion II flower (retired) for extra detail. Lesson learned: If you can hand a card to someone vs. send it, especially when it contains embellishments thicker that 1/4", do so. This card cost alot more than 44 cents to send! Yikes!
