Cute Little Gift

Now I saw this somewhere on some blog - it is not my original idea- but I had to "wing it" so to speak to make it cause I didn't have dimensions or directions - just the idea. I thought this was so cute and it really wasn't that difficult to make. I was thinking it would be perfect for some candy tucked inside. Hmm maybe my coworker will end up with this on her desk!

To make it I cut the Thoroughly Modern designer paper with the Big Shot Top Note die. You need 2 pieces. I then cut some Rose Red cardstock a little larger for background layer. This is done by hand with scissors. Next I used the clear circle die and the large scallop circle die and made the purses closing flap.
Finally I made the base by cutting a strip of cardstock 1 3/4"x 11" which I scored 1/2 " on each of the long sides. I then scored it at 3 1/2" and 7 1/2". The handle is just a 1/2"x 7" strip of cardstock.

To assemble the purse adhere paper to cardstock. The Top Note front and back are adhered to the scored
base. Attach the flap and handles. I used our large Vanilla brads to attach the handle. The butterfly was punched and a layer was cut out a little larger. Again I used a large Vanilla brad to dress it up.

TIP: I found that using our Sticky Strip is the best way to make projects like this. It sticks really well! And it is so much easier to work with than regular adhesive.
